Millennial Media released its U.S. Scorecard for Mobile Advertising Reach and Targeting report today focusing on mobile shopping behavior that continues to be led by those with the Y chromosome.
Although it is September 1st, it seems to take 2 months for the July S.M.A.R.T report to come out with the compiled mobile web user data.
This mobile web user data showed a 1.67% growth from the previous month to about 79 million mobile web users or over a quarter of the US population as they continue to spend more time with their mobile devices in the Summer months.
By exploring men’s use of mobile coupons it shows that 1/3 of men base their clothes shopping on the ability to use them much more so than the general population.
Combining that with results showing 82% of shoppers use their mobile device while in the store seems to show that mobile coupons is an effective tactic to get men into clothes shopping.
This tactic would most likely get further reinforcement from wives and girlfriends uploading apps or bookmarking mobile sites providing these services.
